[Verse 1]
Like an unsung melody
The truth is waiting there for you to find it
It's not a blight but a remedy
A clear reminder of how it began
Deep inside your memory
Turned away as you struggled to find it
You heard the call as you walked away
A voice of calm from within the silence
And for what seemed an eternity
You waited, hoping it would call out again
You heard the shadow reckoning
Then your fears seemed to keep you blinded
You held your guard as you walked away
[Chorus]
When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (all's not forsaken)
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes darkness
Can show you the light
[Verse 2]
An unforgivable tragedy
The answer isn't where you think you'd find it
Prepare yourself for the reckoning
For when your world seems to crumble again
Don't be afraid to turn away
You're the one who can redefine it
Don't let hope become a memory
Let the shadow permeate your mind and
Reveal the thoughts that were tucked away
So that the door can be opened again
Within your darkest memories
Lies the answer if you dare to find it
Don't let hope become a memory
[Chorus]
When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (all's not forsaken)
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes darkness
Can show you the light
[Bridge]
Sickening, weakening
Don't let another somber pariah consume your soul
You need strengthening, toughening
It takes an inner dark to rekindle the fire burning in you
Ignite the fire within you
[Chorus]
When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (all's not forsaken)
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes darkness
Can show you the light
Don't ignore
Listen to me now
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes darkness
Can show you the light
Have you ever felt abandoned? Have you ever felt that difficulties
took away some opportunity and/or ability? Let me tell you something: you are
not alone in this route. Many people, including me, have been through this
situation. but there comes something that fascinates me, and expression that I
have always seen in cartoons, mainly: the light at the end of the tunnel.
I remember when I was a kid, while travelling with my parents,
eventually we’ve gone through tunnels. The first times I felt desperate and
suffocated by darkness and intense noise that was inside. Seeing the light in
the end brought me peace for getting rid of this strangle.
With our lives, thinking about different situations that suffocate
us, it isn’t that different. There is always the moment we are strangled, where
everything seems to lose any sense. It seems there is no end. Our ears get
annoyed with too much noise. Darkness makes us lose the week. But, then, there
comes the light at the end of the tunnel that relieves and brings hope.
Who showed me (and asked to read about this song), was my former
student and today’s a friend, Lucas Marcelino (who is a designer that is
getting a spot, you can check his work at www.lucasbm.com).
By living with him, I’ve seen he’s been through many situations where seemed to
have no solution at all, but in the end, all resolved. When he showed me, he
emphasised the firefighter story, that you can see in the video clip, and how
darkness in his life brought something good, the same way I saw happening to
Lucas’ life, not the same way as the video, but something good.
Don’t let darkness strangle you. It may bring many good things. Know
how to take advantage of situations. Hold on to God. He can bring light to your
life.
