Every little childhood memory
I bury
Hello and welcome to the Building A Memory. Here we care about music and their memories. Today I want to bring a song by one of my favourite modern bands: Leprous. They come from Norway and they have conquered a small piece in my heart with their very well written melodies and vocals.
Even though you may notice a gloomy
air in their songs, it’s something deep to stop and think about. Today we will
be looking into a song that talks about dealing with past feelings.
Every single fear I’m hiding
Every little childhood memory
I bury
Some people are open-hearted to everyone they feel a little bit
involved with and are fond of, some don’t and, probably, this could be because
of some past trauma. Hiding fears and traumas is something to worry about
because it can generate problems in the future, or even in the present moment.
All of my stories are below
Beneath the surface cannot grow
Curled and naked I defer
To shaky thoughts all in a blur
Our mind is a battlefield. We accumulate everything we see, listen, and experience. Sometimes it’s easier to deal with all of this, sometimes not. Dealing with it in our minds requires emotional intelligence since a tired body can rest a night and wake up renewed while in the other hand a tired mind needs more than just a night to recover itself.
You’ve got to be open to treat your mind, seek professional help
and, if it’s the case, accept taking some medicine to balance your body
hormones to put you back in a healthy mind state.
Sitting on top of the façade
Built a tower to surpass
I can’t remember why I’m here
Only why I need to disappear
Our mind may become a dangerous environment if we don’t look after it. The thoughts we may produce can harm who we are and distort how we see and feel the world, and, in a “protective” way, we fake how we are feeling to others to evade a scenario in which we expose our hearts.
Don’t close yourself to the world. Don’t put yourself in a cocoon from where you can’t get out of. Even caterpillars, after entering this state, free themselves to a new and more beautiful life. Don’t put yourself in a below state.
