[Verse 1]
You are
worthy of a great song
So worthy
of a good son that I could never be
You are
evidence around me
Elegance
resounding
By grace I
am restored
But inside
I don't feel right
[Chorus 1]
I can't
help but sing
Waiting for
the warm spring
Winter
wears me down
Falling to
the ground
I can't
help but sing
[Verse 2]
You are a
beautiful disaster
Running so
much faster
Like water
through my veins
You are the
hope that lives inside me
A faith
that is arriving whenever I start to doubt
But inside
I don't feel right
[Chorus 2]
I can't
help but sing
Waiting for
the warm spring
Winter
wears me down
Falling to
the ground
I'll wait
for any sound
Lie here
'til I'm found
I can't
help but sing
[Bridge]
Raise the
voice inside
Call the
dream to life
Open up my
eyes tonight
[Chorus 2 -
2x]

The human
life is interesting. At school, usually in Science classes, we learn that the
cycle of life is, basically, to be born, grow, reproduce, get old and die. When
I was a little child learning this process, it always intrigued me about the
in-betweens and why we didn't learn about them. Well, this is because we all
have our own reality and our own lives.
I saw a
friend tweeting about how each one is happy in its own way. Just like the
previous paragraph, this is so true because each person lives in their own way.
In the same way, we all have our own "winters". Though I love this
season, I understand when people mention about it being a dark period of their
lives, because everything is "dead" and "cold", specially
if you see that this band comes from the USA, where usually snows during
wintertime in some states, differently from Brazil, where I come from.
In
the Bible there's a person who would become a king and be part of Jesus' genealogy. His name was David. Yes, that
one we all know the story about defeating Goliath with a slingshot. He had a
curious, interesting and also disturbing life, yet, he was called "a man
after God's own heart". One day he decided to send one man to the
frontline of war to die because he made this man's wife pregnant, he was
reckless about his sons and daughters education, and some other sins during his
life. He paid the price for these mistakes, but the reason for being called
"a man after God's own heart" is because when he cried for
forgiveness, he was truly repenting from what he was doing and would never
repeat these errors.
King David
was also true to his heart when talking to God. He never hid when he was happy,
angry or sad. There were many times during his life he wrote poems about being
persecuted by his enemies (one of them is his greatest friend's father, king
Saul), and they were pretty much like today's song.
We are far
from being good sons or daughters before God's eye. We keep on messing up,
disobeying and even blaming God for something that has happened. It isn't His
fault, because the world has chosen to be apart from Him, yet, He sent His only
Son to die for us and bring redemption. We must look at Him, like David did,
and truly repent from our mistakes and change our way of life. We must cry out
to Him at all times, happy or not, and understand that He has His own time and
judgement, that is different from ours. Through the Holy Ghost, God comforts
our hearts from everything that may fall upon us. We must sing at every time,
waiting for solace or being grateful. Time will heal the bitter heart.
You
might disbelief what I'm saying and think I'm just blabbering. I laid aside to
everything I heard from believers and non-believers, and asked for God's help
when I needed the most. I gave in to a chance, aside from any prejudice, and I
was answered and had my heart healed. Why don't you try putting aside any
prejudice you have had about Christ? I know there are some "alleged
preachers" who stain the Christian image, but there are many others who
are true to their hearts and bring the real message of comfort and justice.
Hold on to them as reference.
If you don't know any, ask me. At the end of this post there will be many ways
you can contact me.
O Lord my God, I cried to you for
help, and you restored my health. Sing to the Lord , all you godly ones! Praise
his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a
lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. I
cried out to you, O Lord . I begged the Lord for mercy, saying, “What will you
gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of
your faithfulness? Hear me, Lord , and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord .” You
have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of
mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be
silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!
