[Verse 1]
It's over your head
And you don't seem to understand
One word I say
And you can't live your life
Trying to run away
[Verse 2]
You're fighting your friends
Arguing everyone
But it never ends
You're wearing me out
[Chorus]
Come on
Reach out (reach out)
And let someone into your life
[Verse 3]
Don't get me wrong
You always apologise
It's just your way
Of making a scene
You need to be loved
It's not such a crime
[Chorus]
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 4]
Over your head
You just don't seem to understand
One word I say
And you can't live your life
You got so much love
It's burning inside
[Chorus]

This year, at the school I work at, we've got a new English teacher and, to my great surprise, he is a metal music fan and also a former singer of a thrash metal band. His name's Yann and he became a great friend of mine. One of these days we were discussing about some songs that have changed our lives for good and he mentioned the song "Reach Out" by Iron Maiden and even put a side note that he listened to God calling him to "reach out". I didn't recall listening to this song before, although I have visited the Maiden's main discography many times, and the reason is because this song is a B-side (a song put together with a main single and is not too relevant for the main album concept) and I haven't listened to Maiden's B-sides. Wow! What an incredible song.
We have a life cycle: to be born, grow up, reproduce, get old, and die. But what happens during the in-betweens of it is different for each person. I already mentioned something similar to this in the song "Sing" by the band "I Am Empire". We meet people and try to develop our relationships. Sometimes we get along well, and sometimes we don't. Some of them during this process help us to live and some try to drown us.
Trusting someone can be difficult, even more if you had been betrayed before. Understanding the motive of betrayal usually gets you to nowhere. But there will always be with his arms wide open to you. Someone who gives unconditional love, not mattering what you have done in your life. This person understands your real intentions and makes your heart burn inside from the care He gives. I'm talking about Jesus. He's the one who is ready to forgive and will always love you, regardless of the situation. He was sent from his throne to bring forgiveness and love, and to connect us once again to God.
John 3:16-17
Just as the song says in the chorus: reach out and let someone into your life. Let God be part of the daily basis and feel that you are understood, loved and cared about.
PS: unfortunately this song isn't available in the most common streaming platforms, only in YouTube.
